BIO
Bobi-Bosson is a SoCal mixed media artist. She began drawing at a very young age, but did not receive any formal training until college. She abandoned her fifteen-year career in luxury sales and the health industry to devote her time to art.
In 2018, Bobi earned her BA (cum laude) program honors from California State University Channel Islands and awarded "Program Honors." In Fall 2023 she earned her MFA from California State University Long Beach with an emphasis in printmaking which she bridged into sculpture, ceramics and painting. In 2021, Bobi was granted the Sam Francis Foundation Future of Printmaking award. She was also awarded the Richard Baker endowment in 2023.
Some of Bobi's community collaborations include a permanent commemorative mural at the Santa Rosa Island Research Station with California State Parks and the CSUCI Environmental Science Department, a historic mural restoration at Chatsworth train depot with the Chatsworth Arts Council and the City of Los Angeles. In the near future she has multiple art collaboration and workshops with youth in the public schools in CA and NY.
Bobi recently exhibited her thesis solo exhibition, "They Call Me Mother," at the Marilyn Werby gallery at CSULB. Notable group exhibitions include "Lucid in the Ether of What," installation exhibition, at the Icehouse Complex, Long Beach,Ca,"INSIGHTS 2023 - Annual School of Art Juried Exhibition", Carolyn Campagna Kleefeld Contemporary Art Museum,Long Beach,Ca, "14th Biennial International Miniature Print Exhibition," Center for Contemporary Printmaking, Norwalk, CT. “Now Trending : 6th Annual Alpay Scholarship Exhibition,” Palos Verdes Art Center.
Bobi is 2 years in remission from a serious illness and has just given birth to her second child this past March.Such experiences are present in her work. She is currently drawing inspiration through cognitive and sensory processes. Visual sensory, layering, and the handmade which are ritualistic in her practice.
